Second attack on Bellewarde

With the aim of diverting German troops away from Loos when the British attack went in there on 25th September 1915, there were three subsidiary attacks by the British, the largest being the Second attack on Bellewaarde in the Ypres salient which was made by 3rd Division and 14th Division but 1st Northumberland Fusiliers of 9 Brigade, 3rd Division were not directly involved.

Private Haggarty died of wounds on this day and was probably wounded on an earlier date.
